Antique McCamish Funeral Shoes and an Antique Emerson Electric Portable Embalming Machine

Sorry to be away so long!  It was a super busy summer with projects on our old house taking up a lot of time.  I started a new blog for my old house renovation projects.  For those that are interested in such things, the link is here... 1915 Cottage.
I manged to fit in some fun shopping for macabre items and I also did a segment for a new reality series that should be on in December.  I can't discuss the details, but once the show is out, I will tell you all about it!

Meanwhile, here are a few goodies that I dug up over the summer : - )  A lovely pair of antique funeral shoes, also known as casket slippers.
These are by McCamish and look to be from the 1910s.
They are new-old-stock.  Found in the basement of an old funeral home gathering dust.

Antique funeral shoes are wonderful to display along with other macabre mortuary items!  You can buy them here on my website.
Speaking of which, here is a marvelous antique portable embalming machine from around the same era, perhaps a bit later.
It was made by Emerson Electric and has a super cool old case with great antique patina.

I'm told this actually works, although I haven't tried it.
It is a heavy little beast!

Even has the original tag on the top of the case with instructions for oiling the machine!
Don't miss out on this little gem!  You can find it here on my website.
Stay tuned for more fun finds ...
