A little visit to my living room ...
Antique taxidermy form of a fox and albino deer head.
Another antique taxidermy form.
Taxidermy goose.
Flying goose - one of my all time favorites.
Old weathered skull.
Steampunk things.
Mummified frog under glass.
Death masks.
Victorian shore birds.
You have a wonderful array of interesting artifacts. Although I find it fascinating (my grandfather had a stuffed gray squirrel that I eventually inherited, not to mention the racks of dear feet and steer horns we have as decorations in our game room), I was wondering if you ever have guests who are a bit freaked out by the taxidermy and death masks.

Thanks for your comment Diane! Yes, there are people that come over that are not into macabre decor and they don't tend to stay long! Sometimes I forget how strange it all is and then someone will come in for something and freak out when they see Miss Havisham sitting in the corner looking at them - LOL And then there are the nights when I am alone and watching a scary movie and then even I am freaked out :-)
ReplyDelete...and then there are people, like myself, that love it. I went to a favorite haunt- Gothic Rose Antiques & felt right at home. You remind me of her (crystal). Keep up the goodness & unique finds. We need more people & shops like yours. We are a rare breed. ~Ina
ReplyDeleteI am so glad I found you and your blog. We recently sold our home but first we had to take away some of our edgy pieces of art, so as not to frighten off any potential buyers. I'd feel right at home at your place.
ReplyDeleteHi Diane,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by... All the critters are right at home now. Your masks look great all together. Come back by and see my working girls!

Love it, Love it, Love it all!! May I use some of your pictures on my blog so I can post about you?

I'm a friend of Theresa', saw your blog there, am sending you on to another macabre friend...LOVE IT!!!
ReplyDeleteI used to do taxidermy, so my love of the art form has never died, nor has the collection of strange in my home...I'll be back for another dose of odd, keep up the good work!
